Chapter 553: The Fisherman Never Fails (3)
In less than half an hour, Zhou Chao had wandered around the entire Listvyanka town. By this time, the bodyguards he had sent out to buy groceries and meat had already returned to the Hummer.
Zhou Chao glanced at the trunks of almost every car, which were already packed with vegetables and meat. Without lingering too long, he waved to Lin Wu and the others and got into the car. Soon, the convoy left the town.
Back at the ranch, a bonfire had been lit in front of the villa. Not far away, Lev and Chen Nan were leisurely fishing by the shore of Lake Baikal.
“You’re back, boss,” Lev and Chen Nan exclaimed as they saw Zhou Chao stepping out of the car.
“Looks like you’re awake from your booze nap. I thought you guys were going to sleep until evening,” Zhou Chao joked as he approached them.
Both of them scratched their heads awkwardly at the boss’s jest. It was embarrassing to make a fool of themselves in front of the boss.
Zhou Chao didn’t press further and instead walked over to the spot where they had been fishing earlier. He glanced into the bucket, finding not a single fish.
“Your fishing skills seem to be lacking. Not a single catch? A true fisherman never returns empty-handed,” Zhou Chao remarked, talcing a seat and preparing to try his hand at it.
“Boss, we just sat down not long ago,” Chen Nan, an avid fisherman, replied. A complete failure was impossible in their eyes.
Zhou Chao, focused on his fishing float, remarked without turning back, “Arrange for an outdoor barbecue tonight. Prepare extra firewood, so we don’t complain about the cold later.”
“Hehe, boss, do you have any booze ready?” Lev asked with a grin.
“It’s covered!”
With Zhou Chao’s assurance, Lev’s face lit up with a smile, and he quickly led Chen Nan back to the villa.
As the night fell, Zhou Chao’s expression wasn’t too pleasant. After all, he had been fishing for about 20 minutes without a single catch. Lin Wu and the others now stood behind him.
Whether it was the dropping temperature or the fish moving deeper, Zhou Chao sighed inwardly. He reluctantly activated his animal affinity ability. Before long, his fishing float sank.
“Got a bite!”
Without hesitation, Zhou Chao instantly lifted the rod, and it bent into an arch, indicating a sizable catch.
After about ten minutes of struggle, the fish finally surfaced.
“Goodness, this fish must weigh dozens of pounds!” Chen Nan exclaimed incredulously. He had been fishing with his men for some time at the ranch, but they had never caught such a big fish.
Soon, the fish was pulled onto the shore. Lev embraced the fish in his arms, its size nearly half his height. Considering Lev’s 1.9-mcter tall stature, one could imagine the enormity of the fish.
“Boss, want to take a couple of pictures?” Lin Wu suggested, pointing at the big fish.
Zhou Chao nodded, then single-handedly grabbed the fish by the gills, lifting it out of Lev’s embrace. This display shocked both Lev and Chen Nan.
“Boss, I’d like to spar with you!” Lev looked at Zhou Chao earnestly.
Seeing Lev’s serious expression, Zhou Chao nodded after a moment’s thought. “Sure, let’s have some fun after dinner.”
“Thankyou, boss!”
