Chapter 567: 574: Is there Amethyst Mine at Home? (3/10)
However, this problem of intimidating identities applied to others. Yang Zhen had not even heard of those sects, meaning either the sects were low-key or their disciples were.
After Liu Xian left, she repeatedly cautioned everyone that Yang Zhen was not Yang Zhen but Yang Kaixin. As for the darn cat, that was a cute little kitty Yang Zhen had adopted at the entrance of Sacred Domain on his way there.
None of them were fools. They all accepted it with open eyes even though some were suspicious. Moreover, they found Yang Kaixin low-key, which unlike Yang Zhen, wasn’t so presumptuous, so they turned a blind eye.
In fact, even if Yang Kaixin were really Yang Zhen, as long as he wasn’t causing trouble for others, they wouldn’t pick on him. Instead, many disciples from the great sects were quite interested in Yang Zhen and started chats with him.
Among them, a Little Fatty seemed quite interesting to Yang Zhen. This Little Fatty was a disciple of the Cloud Void Sect, round and pudgy. He always smiled before speaking, appeared very polite, and was extremely sociable, able to strike up conversation with anyone.
After Liu Xian left and everybody exchanged pleasantries before departing, Little Fatty stuck around, rolling his eyes and sidled up to Yang Zhen. “Bro, are you sure you aren’t Yang Zhen?” he asked.
Yang Zhen, who had a rather positive impression of the Little Fatty, shook his head and said, “Just like I said earlier, does it really matter if I’m Yang Zhen? I thought you wouldn’t care about such vanities. So, do you think I should be Yang Zhen too?”
Little Fatty made a face and said, “Whether you’re Yang Zhen or not has nothing to do with me. By the way, my name is Qi Dinglong. You can call me Big Dragon. And this cat of yours…”
Seeing the look in Little Fatty Qi Dinglong’s eyes, the darn cat’s fur stood on end and it glared menacingly at Little Fatty, growling, “Meow.”
Little Fatty chuckled, rubbed his hands together looking like he was about to pet the cat, which bewildered Yang Zhen. “You like cats?” he asked.
This… made Little Fatty rather embarrassed. He scratched his head and admitted, “Yeah, I’ve liked cats since I was little. I’ve raised a lot of them in my sect, but I’ve never seen one as spiritual as this.”
At this point, Little Fatty’s eyes lit up. He told Yang Zhen, “Five pieces of purple crystal, I’ll give you five pieces of purple crystal. How about you sell this kitten to me?”
“Ok…damn!”
Yang Zhen quickly pried open the cat’s jaws as it tried to bite him. Shaking his head, he said, “Forget it, this little bastard actually dares to bite me, I’m going home to pet my cat.”
“No, no, Brother Yang, would you reconsider?”
Little Fatty pursued Yang Zhen relentlessly, leaving the onlookers around them stunned.
“He’s willing to pay five purple crystals for a cat. What’s Little Fatty’s background? Does he have a purple crystal mine at home?”
“Seems like that Yang Kaixin almost sold it. Looks like he’s not Yang Zhen. How could Yang Zhen sell the darn cat for just five purple crystals?”
“Of course he’s not Yang Zhen. Didn’t you hear what Miss Liu Xian said? The fat cat only ran over when she was receiving Yang Zhen.”
As the crowd discussed among themselves, Yang Zhen arrived at Apricot Flower Residence in Plum Blossom Sky, which Liu Xian had recommended. He was immediately pleased.
Apricot Flower Residence was a bamboo cottage with its own door and yard. It looked beautiful. Unless Yang Zhen was mistaken, this bamboo was not ordinary bamboo but constructed from Tianlan Bamboo.
This kind of bamboo could calm one’s spirit and was very famous in Northern Island. Also, it was quite expensive. Yang Zhen didn’t expect the Heavenly Snow Holy Domain to use this kind of bamboo to build houses. They truly were wealthy and extravagant.
Little Fatty, who had been following Yang Zhen all along, suddenly laughed out loud, startling Yang Zhen. He looked back at Little Fatty, confused. “What are you yelping about, mate? What if you scare the plants?” he asked.
Little Fatty seemed surprised and stared back blankly. He muttered, “If you weren’t wearing scholar’s clothes, I’d have thought you were a monk. Those monks always live in seclusion, it’s hard to even get a glimpse of them. I mean, we really are fated!”
Yang Zhen was confused by Little Fatty’s off-the-wall way of talking. He asked, “What destiny do we share?”
Little Fatty puffed up his chest, looking quite pleased with himself. “We ended up in the Heavenly Snow Holy Domain, we both like cats, and we are going to live together. Do you think we share a destiny… What’s with your expression?”
Yang Zhen looked at Little Fatty with a stunned expression, took two steps back, and stared at Little Fatty’s face with a vigilant and confused look, exclaiming, “What do you mean by living together? Damn it, don’t tell me you’re also living in Apricot Flower Residence! What the hell is going on in the Heavenly Snow Holy Domain? Two men living in the same room!?”
“It’s not two men sharing a room, one man and one woman then? Isn’t that even more embarrassing?”
Little Fatty looked equally confused, but then his face changed dramatically, and with a ‘bang’ he bounced backwards, watching Yang Zhen with a wary face, “What are you thinking about? Who said I want to share a room with you?”
Seeing Little Fatty’s almost reflexive response, Yang Zhen instantly breathed a sigh of relief and asked curiously, “Wasn’t it you who said we were living together?”
Little Fatty shivered all over, pointing to a wooden house nearby and replied, “In here, I’m living here, not in the Apricot Flower Residence, it’s the Chrysanthemum Pavilion!”
“Chrysanthemum… Pavilion?” Yang Zhen looked at the label on the door of the nearby house and immediately tried to suppress a laugh. He slapped Little Fatty on the shoulder and teased, “Well done, well done. At least we’re not roommates. Chrysanthemum Pavilion suits you quite well. Why not go by ‘Brother Chrysanthemum’ from now on?”
“That’s not appropriate. The name Brother Chrysanthemum is too ostentatious. It doesn’t suit my temperament.”
Little Fatty flatly rejected this name, but Yang Zhen didn’t care if he rejected it or liked it, and plastered the name on him.
“Brother Chrysanthemum, how long will we have to stay here?”
Little Fatty’s mouth twitched, saying, “I don’t know, but I heard there is some disagreement between the people of the Heavenly Snow Holy Domain and the Heavenly Spring Sacred Land; when all the people have arrived, and their dispute is settled, it would probably start.”
“How much do you know about this Heavenly Snow Holy Domain meeting?”
Little Fatty rolled his eyes and grumbled, “Nothing more than some useless information. These people maintain secrecy too well. I’ve been inquiring about the news these days but I’ve not heard anything useful. However, I did hear that this operation is related to the True Essence explosion two years ago.”
Yang Zhen raised an eyebrow and asked, “What relation does that have?”
Little Fatty chuckled, “Without that True Essence explosion, those Sacred Domains and Sacred Lands wouldn’t wake up. This operation is probably similar, just more complicated…”
At this point, Little Fatty pursed his lips and said, “Enough about this. It doesn’t have much to do with us. Let’s talk about this cat.”
Yang Zhen shook his head and asked further, “What kind of people are living here now?”
Little Fatty’s eyes lit up as he mischievously said, “Speaking of this, as your brother, I have to remind you, if you know anything about array formation, you’d better set one up for the Apricot Flower Residence…”
“Why is that?”
Yang Zhen felt a chill inside. Was there some danger here?
Would someone possibly come to rob in the middle of the night or even take someone hostage?
He had never imagined that the women of the Heavenly Snow Holy Domain could be so fierce!
As Yang Zhen pondered, a deafening explosion rang out, tossing both him and Little Fatty, along with their beautiful residence, into the air.
“What the hell, what’s happening?”
Yang Zhen, who was thrown into midair while performing two Thomas flairs, was utterly confused.
What was going on?
Did the fight start without a word?
Who threw the grenade?
