Chapter 206: 129 Brothers (Second Update)_2
“Where’s Brother Xiaoshun?” Little Jingkong asked again.
“He couldn’t climb up, so he’s gone to get a ladder!” Gu Yan would never admit that he couldn’t climb down, so Gu Xiaoshun had gone to get a ladder and rope to help him down.
Little Jingkong said, “It’s getting late, you should go home, come down!”
Gu Yan said, “I’m not coming down!”
Little Jingkong put his hands on his hips: “Why won’t you come down? You’ve been playing too long today! I’m going to deduct from your playtime tomorrow!”
Gu Yan stuck out his tongue at Little Jingkong: “If I don’t come down, I don’t come down! If you can, come up and catch me!”
Little Jingkong really couldn’t understand Brother Gu Yan’s naughty behavior. He was only slightly over three years old, but he had already stopped climbing trees, let alone making faces at people. He was a mature child, while Brother Gu Yan was still a baby!
“Could it be that you’re afraid to come down?” Little Jingkong boldly guessed.
“I, I certainly am not!” Gu Yan firmly denied!
According to Little Jingkong’s careful observation, whenever Brother Yan lied, he would always look left and right, look up at the sky, and dare not look at people directly.
He had done all three!
“You’re just afraid to come down!”
“I’m not! It’s you who are afraid to come up!”
“Why should I come up?”
“…”
Gu Yan was speechless.
Unfortunately, Gu Xiaoshun was looking for a ladder and had disappeared.
Gu Yan’s strength was nearly depleted, he felt that he couldn’t hold on much longer, if Gu Xiaoshun didn’t show up soon, he might just fall down.
Just when the atmosphere turned awkward and tense, Gu Changqing, who was passing by nearby, heard Little Jingkong’s voice.
It wasn’t that he was deliberately heading in this direction, but this was the only route from the Military Camp to the Marquis Residence. Otherwise, he would not have encountered Little Jingkong the last time.
Hearing Little Jingkong’s seemingly anxious voice, as if arguing with someone, he paused and rode over.
“What are you up to?” His steed stopped behind Little Jingkong.
Little Jingkong looked up, his big black eyes brightening: “Big Brother, it’s you! We meet again!”
“Hmm.” Gu Changqing nodded, “Are you arguing with someone?”
Little Jingkong sighed: “No, it’s one of my elder siblings. He climbed a tree and can’t get down, I’m really worried!”
This sounded exactly like “My naughty kid climbed a tree and can’t get down, really giving me a headache!”
At three years old, worrying like a thirty-year-old, Gu Changqing felt his eyelid twitch.
He raised his head and looked at Gu Yan in the tree, said no more, and swooped up and brought Gu Yan down.
Gu Yan was nearly out of energy, and also easy to lift. Moreover, Gu Yan was light, and Gu Changqing barely felt the weight of the person in his arms.
Gu Yan was all dizzy, not understanding what had just happened. By the time he realized, he was already on the ground.
“Huh?” He blinked oddly, looking at the towering man before him, somewhat taken aback, “Who, who are you?”
Little Jingkong explained: “He’s Big Brother! The one who saved me last time and gave me a bird!”
“Oh.” So the fierce little hawk was given by this guy!
“Brother Yan, what’s wrong with your face?” asked Little Jingkong.
“What’s wrong with it?” Gu Yan subconsciously touched his face. It didn’t feel right to the touch.
Little Jingkong took out a small peach wood mirror from his pocket and held it up to Gu Yan’s face: “Look for yourself!”
Looking at his face in the mirror, covered in rashes and terribly swollen, Gu Yan was so scared that he almost passed out! n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
“Why, why did my face become like this?”
He was going to die! He was going to die! His beautiful face was gone!
“You might have been bitten by an insect on the tree. You should see a doctor immediately.” Gu Changqing said, remembering that the little girl was a doctor, he added, “Let’s go back now.”
Gu Yan looked down at his swollen ankle: “My, my foot!”
Gu Changqing paused and said, “I’ll take you back.”
“Huh?” Gu Yan was taken aback.
Little Jingkong nodded and said, “Thank you Big Brother! You take Brother Yan back first, I’ll wait here for Brother Xiaoshun! So he won’t be looking for us when he comes back!”
Gu Changqing looked at Little Jingkong and asked, “Will you be alright by yourself?”
Little Jingkong slapped his little chest: “I’ll be fine! I’m very familiar with this place! I won’t get lost!”
“Alright.” Gu Changqing mounted his horse and reached a hand out to Gu Yan.
Gu Yan stood there, dumbfounded.
Gu Changqing readily grabbed Gu Yan, put him directly on the saddle in front of him, and then took the reins in both hands, enveloping Gu Yan in his embrace.
