Chapter 142 You Better Believe It

However, they weren\'t expecting to such a huge crowd after they\'ve busted their asses in enjoining other people!

"30 shots in a minute, and you\'d be able to get Max Zhou\'s jersey!"

Mingze and Alen turned to each other in surprise once they heard Kai\'s voice from the huge crowd.

The people clamored to get to the front, some of them even pushing others aggressively.

Lina\'s eyes widened at the commotion ahead of her. She even found herself stumbling once the crowd got too much.

Kai saw this and quickly glared at the excited participants.

"Fix the line," he said in a low voice, accompanied by his scary glare.

In an instant, the people started lining up at the booth, making the other basketball players look at Kai with raised eyebrows.

Jet went over to where he was and patted his back.

"I think you\'re my idol now," he said.

Kun and Shang decided to take the payments from the people, their smiles widening when the others even opted for more than one try.

Their money jar quickly filled up, and Kun found himself using a plastic bag for the rest of their funds instead.

Jinping\'s eyes widened when he saw the amount of money that they had gathered in such a short amount of time.

"What the heck is happening?" he muttered.

Meanwhile, Kai continued to market Max\'s jersey as if he were a host on a home shopping channel.

"This even has Max\'s sweat. You can do anything you like with it! Who knows? You might be the next greatest basketball player in Jilin City!" Kai exclaimed.

With his statement, more and more people wanted to try out, with those who had already tried going to the back of the line in hopes of succeeding on their second try.

Lina tapped Kai\'s shoulder and leaned to whisper in his ears.

"37 shots?" she asked. "Don\'t you think that\'s impossible for non-basketball players?"

"I was able to make 36 shots in," Kai proudly said. "I heard a lot of them say that it would be easy, so it\'s only fair."

Lina pursed her lips.

"Besides," Kai quickly added. "Isn\'t that the most fun part? It\'ll take a long time before someone takes the jersey. Then, we\'ll have more money."

Lina shook her head with an amused smile. "You\'re right. I like the plan."

Meanwhile, Dylan and the rest of the second-string team finally managed to go inside their booth after much difficulty.

Those waiting in line were convinced that they were going to cut through the line and steal their spot, so they were pushed to the back every time they tried to go to the front.

In the end, they had to circle around the garden to be able to enter their booth.

"Did something happen?" Dylan asked in confusion, a bit breathless from everything that was happening. "Why is everybody suddenly lining up for our booth?"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Shang smirked as he nodded in Kai\'s direction.

"That guy actually got Max Zhou\'s jersey. Now, he\'s using it as the prize for whoever sinks 37 shots in one minute," he explained.

"What?" Mingze asked in confusion. "How was he even able to get that?"

"Would you believe me if I said he beat a Yin Yang Knight to get it?"

The second-string team players were silent for a while before they shook their heads.

"Nope," they said in unison.

Then, Shang smirked.

"Well, you better believe it."

Meanwhile, Fabin walked absentmindedly in the garden, not even knowing where his feet would take him.

On his right hand was a paper bag of large red onions, and on the other was a crushed cookie from the football team\'s booth. It was given to him by a group of girls who pitied him after losing to Kai Guo.

He paused for a moment and looked into the distance.

"I...lost," he muttered before gazing to the ground.

Just then, he felt someone bump into him, causing him to lift his head.

"Watch where you\'re going," Fabin snapped, already in a bad mood after his loss.

However, when he saw that it was Ailun and Max, his so-called friends, he became even more upset.

"Where the hell have you been?" he couldn\'t help but exclaim.

Ailun and Max turned to each other before scratching the back of their heads.

"Oh, we really did forget something," Max said.

Fabin let out a deep breath and slumped his shoulders, appearing even more upset.

Ailun went beside him and patted his back.

"There, there. We just went to a cat cafe. You\'re allergic to cats, right?" he asked.

Fabin shook his head. "No, I love cats."

"Oops," Ailun chuckled. "Wrong person, I guess."

Fabin slumped even further, causing Max to intervene.

"Don\'t be too upset. You were off wandering on your own, and we couldn\'t find you," he said.

"That doesn\'t make it any better," Fabin said. "You should have been there when I was at my lowest times! I had to face the shame all alone," he muttered dramatically.

"What are you talking about?" Ailun asked in confusion.

Fabin sighed and handed him the paper bag and the cookie so he could cross his arms in front of his chest. Ailun and Max looked at the contents before turning to each other in surprise.

"Onions?" they asked.

"Yeah—onions," Fabin spat. "I don\'t think I\'ll be able to eat onions from now on because of that guy."

Max became even more curious since he could only correlate one guy to onions.

"What happened when we weren\'t around?"

Fabin sighed and finally decided to tell them the story.

"Let\'s just say that Kai Guo challenged me to a shooting battle," he said.

Ailun\'s eyes widened in horror. "Gosh! Did you accidentally kill him?"

"Not that kind of shooting, idiot," Fabin deadpanned. "Basketball shooting."

Ailun immediately relaxed.

"Oh," he said. "What\'s there to worry about then? You should have accepted since you\'re going to win against him anyway."

Fabin was silent for a moment before he decided to ask a question.

"Would you believe me if I said that Kai Guo beat me with one point in the shooting game?"

Max and Ailun turned to each other with raised eyebrows before turning back to Fabin.

"There\'s no way," the two of them said.

Fabin sighed and scratched the back of his head.

"Well...you better believe it, I guess?"
